Ethics can be defined as an external system of regulations that are followed at the workplace or institution. People who follow the rules end up being rewarded while those who go against them end up being punished. Integrity on the other hand, is a system of internal principles that governs our behavior. Integrity doesn’t oblige you to follow certain rules; rather you tell yourself what you are supposed to do. This two values form a relationship where each strengthens the other. If you have personal integrity then it becomes easy to follow ethics.

The essential elements of integrity are the virtues like: kindness, honesty, maturity, respect, wisdom and trust. These virtues when possessed by employees keep the business running and ethics set are adhered to. Management also becomes very easy since each employee knows what is expected of them and they don’t need to be supervised on a daily basis to complete the work assigned to them.

IT professionals normally undergo training that mainly focuses on providing them with technical skills and knowledge to help them carry out their work. However, challenges come up when the IT professionals use their expertise for the wrong purposes such as hacking. Hacking is illegal since it involves accessing other people’s information or data without their knowledge. It is a criminal offence and employees should be made aware of the dangers that result from such acts.

In case an employee decides to hack another company’s network, this can make them get sued and the company ends up being tarnished. IT professionals should be reminded of their expectations so that they can work together to build the company rather than working secretly to bring it down. The growth and success of the company should be their aim since it will get them promoted and well compensated due to their great achievements.

Recruitment is a process that should be taken very seriously and new candidates should undergo thorough screening before they are offered a job. As an interviewer, you should first conduct a background check on an employee, the positions they had and their references. The positions that they held in the previous organizations will guide you to know how responsible they are and their accountability. Another factor is their behavior and how they address people. If the candidate doesn’t have any respect for their former employer, then such as person, doesn’t qualify to be hired.

Team building is very important to any organization that wants to succeed. It’s not always about work all the time, employees get bored with too much work and they also need time once in a while to have fun. Corporate games play a big role when it comes to value building. Staff gets to interact with each other freely and that way, they get to acquire positive values from each other which will lead to the company’s success. The senior staff also has time to advice the new employees on the ways to improve their performance at the workplace.
